Even in our homes, we remove shoes before we enter the "pooja room".
Is this just a respect to "GOD"?
Will "GOD" punish us if we do not remove our shoes?
If so, why do people put their shoes on in a Church(I am not talking about India)??
The reason is pretty logical: Along the shoes come all the dirty mud and harmful bacteria/viruses and all that material that could infect humans and make them sick.
And all of these holy places - Hindu Temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras - are very public and people sit on floor, of-course very neat and clean floors. If we enter these places where people sit on floor, while shoes on, they might get infected by those particles.
So, "GOD" does punish us if we enter such places of public gathering.
But what about Church!!! Well, people sit on chairs ;)
In India(though I love my India), we actually don't think when it comes to religion. And I had seen church where people leave their shoes outside. Better we understand the reason for what we do.
Gyaan Logic : Giving respect to "GOD" is nothing but respecting humans, respecting ourselves.
Then why dont we do this directly.
